Derick is a trailblazing social entrepreneur with an authentic voice for change. For the past decade Derick has dedicated his life to inspiring a new generation of leaders through his conversational talks on business, technology and Pan African empowerment. Pearson graduated from Morehouse College with a degree in Economics and Mathematics.

 

In 2011 Derick was honored at the White House for the Empact 100 awards for being one of the Top 100 Entrepreneurs under 30 as well as his company being featured in NBC Today Show, The Cooking Channel, Washington Post, Boston Globe, and Black Enterprise Magazine.

After graduating from Morehouse College Pearson worked as a Financial Analysts for Target managing 250 million dollars for one of the nations top retailers.


After Target he went on to have a successful career running marketing programs for Verizon, Nintendo, PNC Bank, US Air Force Super Car and Direct TV. In 2010 Derick spearheaded President Obama's national education initiative where he traveled around the nation helping to increase high school graduation rates by promoting college path's in STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) to disadvantaged high schools students through a virtual energy lab.

 

Derick is the co-owner of a successful Miami based
Gourmet Popsicle company called Feverish Ice Cream and the Co-Founder of Code Fever a program dedicated to creating more minority lead tech start up’s in Miami. 
a youth tech entrepreneurship foundation called Code Fever that teaches kids 11-18 yrs old how to build their own tech startup by teaching them how to code matched with and entrepreneurial skills. Code Fever is also a White House 2014 Champions of Change for STEM Access and Diversity Program Honoree. He has also been featured in the Washington Post, ABC News, the Food Network and Black Enterprise magazine for his work in financial literacy, experiential marketing, entrepreneurship and his dedication to helping African American students get excited about technology and entrepreneurship.
